So I've been 50 for two whole days now... and I must say has been lovely.
Yesterday was a low key kinda day, church in the morning, announcing the giveaway winner, community choir practice in the afternoon and then laughing at the Superbowl commercials in the evening. Not too bad.
I promised a a giveaway every week of this month and so now here is #2

It's the Big One Elizabeth!!!!

Anyone who is my age will remember this famous line from Sanford and Sons every time there was a something scary, important or shocking about to occur the father's life.

Well it's my big moment this month. Been mulling this one over and I've decided it's Special...Like all birthdays I'll only see it once but it's a milestone. I can remember actually thinking about being 50 when I was a young adult and wondering just what that would be like, now I know.... Pretty Darn Cool if you ask me.

So what does one do for that??? some people make goals, others life changes, and still others nothing at all. Me? I want to give gifts :) I am going to do 4 giveaways because it's fun to share. I'd have done a humongous party if had the resources but as don't they'll be items I'd like to win or get myself so you'll have to stop by and check out the goodies as we move through the month of February...

The rules are super simple and probably won't change much from week to week -- I would like visitors and, like any Birthday Girl, I'd like birthday wishes; so to enter all you need to do for this week's gift is tell me Happy Birthday. I'd hope you'd take a minute or two to look in my archives and, maybe just maybe, follow me but not required.

The first is "The Core of It" stamp set from The Sweet Stamp Shop -- Nicole Rixon and her hubby opened this shop the middle of last year. Their designs actually fanned & rekindled the embers of a crafty fire I'd thought had gone out. I really like them and hope you will too.

Fearless in Black&White//Sin Miedo en Blanco y Negro

The other day I saw the CAS-ual Fridays challenge #36 -- make a card in B&W and no other colors at all. It actually made my fingers itch to grab paper and ink. So last night, I looked over the entries and then my small stash of stamps and pulled out ones I had purchased when my boys were younger and experiencing all that dashing dare-devil stunt stuff. As I was thinking of the design and sentiment I got excited, but it was this morning after doing my devotional reading that I realized it was the perfect choice because it captured exactly how I was feeling inside.

You see today was all about setting your spiritual house to rights. You have to be fearless as you clean and straighten it out, getting rid of the junk, so that it will shine as it's supposed to. A clean house is clean. A godly house is godly. It's a Black and White situation, yes or no. I then was doing my read the Bible in a year and the passages were from Exodus where God is designing His Temple and giving instructions to Moses. The two passages dovetailed perfectly because we are to use our best work when creating our spiritual structure but we are to be fearless as we do it because only then will it be glorious. Once again it's Black or White you either are doing it or you are not.

My card doesn't have a spiritual sentiment nor image -- it's pure fast mountain biking -- working fearlessly to be a perfect dare-devil. A lot of work goes into being an athlete both inside and out to stand out in your field. I'd like to be more like that and, perhaps in the journey, be able to feel that joyous abandon of the wind in your face as I fly across the finish line.... It might be a bit more that what I usually write but it was really how feeling this morning. Perhaps my tapita will fill you up as well today..that's my wish for you.

Pues el otro dia via el reto nuveo del CAS-ual Fridays , que era crear una tarjeta hecha exclusivamente en blanco y negro. La verdad, mis manos querian ir solos a jugar con el paper, estampas y tinta en este mismo instante. Asi que anoche me puse a revisar mi pequeno grupo de estampas y acabe seleccionando una que habia comprado cuando mis hijos eran mas peques y estaban comenzando a hacer estas actividades que hacen a las madres envejecerse de un momento a otro sin pensar en las consequencias de sus acciones. Mientras buscaba al sentimiento idoneo, mi entusiasmo crecia pero no era hasta esta manana, cuando termine con mis lecturas devocionales en la biblia, que me di cuenta que mis selecciones capturaron como me sentia.

Es que hoy mis lecturas trataban con nuestra obligacion de mantener nuestra casa espiritual limpia, bonita y sana. O esta limpia y en orden o no lo esta -- balnco y negro. Pero para hacer esto hay que seguir adelante sin miedo de tirar lo viejo y sucio para que se brille como debe. A continuacion leia en el libro del Exodo que Dios dio instruccione muy claras y detalladas de como debe construir su templo. son instrucciones para nosotros tambien, utilizar lo mejor siempre y sera divina la casa. Esto tambien es blanco o negro, o estas dando lo maximo o no lo estas.

Mi tarjeta no contiene ni imagen ni sentimeinto espiritual/religioso -- es una ciclista en bici de montana yendo a toda velocidad -- un atleta trabajando duro, sin miedo a ser lo mejor posible. Un atleta de este calibre dedica mucho labor tanto externo como interno para ser exitoso y brillar como una estrella. Yo quisiera ser mas como este atleta en mi vida espiritual, y quizas como premio podre sentir este abandono delicioso cuando el viento vuela por la cara al cruzar la meta como una campeona...tal vez estos parrafos son diferente a lo que normalmente escribo pero es como me siento hoy...mi deseo es que mi tapita de hoy te llena igual que a mi...

Since my last post it's been a bit busy... youngest son had wisdom teeth out. Unfortunately he and anesthesia/pain killers don't mix well and he's been a rather unhappy/sore camper. Oldest is hot on the P90X trail again and my nephew is hurring to cath up to his older cousins in all things cool LOL

As for me well work has been busy. Went into the office last week, it was nice to see my co-workers but he day was rather hectic. I like my home office feel :)

That evening helped a friend update a medical presentation booklet we'd worked on a couple of years ago for the patients. Scrapbooking is not just for memory keeping.

It's been COLD here in NH but not that much snow for which am somewhat grateful. Really not into shoveling this year.

Fast forward to yesterday and Monday..... I was actually going to try and submit designs for the recent Sweet Stamp Shop DT Call but the more I looked at my style in relation to what is currently being done I find my personal style just isn't the CAS (clean and simple) style that seems to be the norm right now. I like Bold, I like Eclectic, I like Shabby, Vintage, Victorian, Modern AND I like to mix it all up at the same time or not, so that means none of my cards, layouts, ATC's etc have a prevailing style other than they are completely different from each other. And that's what a Tapita is: UNIQUELY Delicious item just for being itself. If you can duplicate it while in the moment then great but even when you make it again it may very well be DIFFERENT somehow.

These two designs are products of how I was feeling the past couple of days Big, Bold and Chunky, very different results from my last cards... I need to start doing Layouts again as well as am very behind ..... in any case enjoy :)

2012 and I'm off // Un buen comienzo 2012

Potential -- yup that's what we ALL have and Thank the Lord we're aren't done yet! I've been thinking that I've got a lot but due to many things my own creative and personal spaces have been so diminished that I can only grow. I decided I needed to reconnect by trying very hard to create and put things in order. I fell in love with a stamp set, Sentimental Birds, by The Sweet Stamp Shop which is being officially released tomorrow but that I got ahead of time on ScrapbookSteals.com about a month ago. With the holidays I couldn't find time to use it but use it did :)
I manged to design two totally different cards using the stamp and some quote stamps I had from Stampin'Up..

Because most of my stock/stash is woefully out of date I can't even begin to tell you whose paper/ribbons/embellies are whose but can say I have Karen Foster and Bazzill papers, handmade tissue paper, Mode Podge, Glue Dots and EK 3-D adhesives, generic copper glitter glue, Stamping up Inks and Markers and Ranger clear Embossing powders.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I did designing them and HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my new and regular visitors!!!

Handmade Holiday Blog Hop

I've been busy this week which accounts for now updated posts. I've had work coming out my ears, backed up home chores and then yesterday I threw all of that out the window and went Holiday Fair Hopping in my town. This is my tapita creation for The Play Date Cafe Challenge for this week.

their color scheme was Kraft-Taupe//Flesh//Cadet Blue and they welcome all skill levels and any project.

Keeping that in mind what I created was one of my fav items an ATC.

As I stated previously all my supplies are approx 4/5 years old so the it's a real mix

I hope you like it. I embossed the entire picture and then cracked it to give it a tad bit more antiquing. I applied rub ons before and after the process. the corner punch gave it some frill as did the piece of ribbon on the right. Bling in the form of glittery hearts and clear gem spots.

the original quote is "And this is my good side" which prompted my "Be Amazing".

My Back is Killing Me//Me Duele la Espalda

So since my last post the house redo took a turn. Last week I had a staycation (it is a case of use my PTO or lose it as well). I made a HUGE to do list and when Monday rolled around I hit the floor running or painting if you prefer. I painted/caulked windows in three rooms and began prepping the bathroom. It was the Bathroom (and the busted car gas line, an eye appt, a dentist appt and semi-battle with foam insulation) that effectively killed the forward momentum.

My bathroom is a disaster and really should be gutted but as no money decided a face lift would have to do. Unfortunately this room is oddly shaped which caused me no end of headaches to try and patch, prime and paint. I did so many acrobatically contortion-ed moves that by Friday if I never saw a ladder and paintbrush again I'd be a happy camper. It IS fully prepped for the final color coat but my back is so sore I've had to hold off till not so achy. I promise photos soon so you can see the transformation. It will look good finally. The living room is on hold and so is the spare room right now but I will get em done before the Holidays :)

As decided not to work it at all on Sunday I actually hit my craft table to create as had been highly motivated by these two challenges The CAS-ual Fridays and The Play Date Cafe. I am going to make separate posts for the actual entries but this was inspired by The Playdate's choice of color palette for this week which was Kraft-Taupe//Flesh//Cadet Blue --problem is I didnt' keep to it so this card can't count but I thought it was a lovely tapita creation.

Boy am I out of date // Estoy super atrasada

So participating in the recent Sweet Stamp Shop sponsored OJS Hop (see previous post) left me with such a high. Not only was it a great cause but I had over 80 visits (unheard of for me) and it was such a moral booster to realize I still could whip up a tapita! So what, you ask, happened that I haven't posted since???

This is what is happening..

Yeah, I am not only behind on scrapping/creating but I'm now tackling jobs that should have been done many times over. Painting rooms, which I love, is rather hard when you have to move furniture and then move it back, all while never knowing if a network troubleshooting call will interrupt you mid-stroke. LOL. I will post my progress but you gotta know I still have a bathroom, 2 bedrooms and closet to tackle (and that NOT counting rooms downstairs) so will have paint covered body parts for awhile yet. :)

No matter, I got all excited about The Craft Meow's sketch challenge , so I merrily interpreted it and created a really yummy tapita in my opinion. But when went to upload I re-read the info and had completely missed that had to use their stamps. All my crafting supplies are literally from 3/4 years ago, much of it still in original packaging. Was totally bummed but never fear that's what Blogs are for. And as I was inspired to create with the only new stamps I do have from the Sweet Stamp Shop (their new releases are so cute) So I created two items. which makes today a 2fer to make up for the lag.

Let me what you think and I, on the other hand, need to figure out how to update supplies w/o breaking the bank..

Pues mi reciente participacion en el OJS Blog Hop, patrocinado por el Sweet Stamp Shop, me dejo totalmente animada y alegre. No solo fue un evento por una causa fenomenal sino tambien resulto en80 y tantos visitantes a mi blog, cosa no visto ni siquiera cuando estaba mucho mas activa aca. Me dio una subida de moral porque me mostro que, a pesar de no haber creado nada por anos, todavia guardaba la magia y podria crear mis tapitas! Asi que la pregunta es, que paso que no publique nada mas desde entonces???

Pues pintura es la razon. No solo llevo tiempo sin dedicarme a la creatividad sino tambien todos estos quehacers importantes se quedaron de lado tambien. Como se peude imaginar la pintura tarda mucho cuando no se puede vaciar a la habitacion que trabjas. Hay que ir a trozos y tambien estar pendiente de mi trabajo como tecnico de redes de informatica. Como trabajo de casa si suena el telefono tengo que parar a medio paso de la brocha JAJA. Y como me quedan 2 habitaciones, un bano mas y guardarropa a pintar tengo para rato. Ya os mantendre informados.

Bien, tengo un dos por uno hoy. Me entusiasme por un reto utilizando una maqueta de The Craft's Meow y disene una tarjeta y tambien utilize las unicas estampas nuevas que tengo del Sweet Stamp Shop para una segunda. La gracia vino cuando quise anadir a mi proyecto ya que me di cuenta de que no habia utilizado el producto de The Craft's Meow. Como voy hacer esto cuando TODO mi inventario es de hace 3/4 anos? y mocho de esto aun esta dentro de envolturas originales? AAAhhh pues por esto tenemos los Blogs y aqui van para ser desgustados por vosotros. Decidme lo que pensais y yo, por mi parte, tengo que buscar una manera de actualizar a mi inventario sin irme a la bancarota :)

The dentist told her there was no way to save them & that it was his recommendation that she give in and have them all her teeth removed soon, but for that day, they needed to get her front teeth done so her gums could begin to heal. He said he would 'work out payments with her to have ALL this work done...but when she called to make her appt for the first step of impressions, they told her the amount of money that was needed and that the 'payments' applied only to the two teeth that were extracted that day. Her husband Paul was with her & that too, was his understanding as well. So this is how she has found herself in this situation…Needing at least $4000 to get started and another $3000 to finish the process…a total of $7000.Nicole Rixon, owner of Sweet Stamp Shop put together this benefit after finding out about this situation and before Julie Ranae knew it, it took flight! Because she is an event organizer by trade, she has taken on the job of organizing all of the blogs in this hop as her way of ‘working overtime’ for what she needs, the same as if she were able to work overtime at an outside job to pay for the work to be done.

I will be a part of my first ever Blog Hop.

I'm very excited for many reasons.

First and foremost because it will be a benefit hop to help a very neat person who has had a very disheartening medical concern that has left her with unexpected, expensive and very necessary dental work. And as everyone knows when your teeth are involved it affects all aspects of your self. Right now she's not feeling quite as lovely as she ought to so we're out to pitch in to bring back her smile.

Her name is Julie Ranae, a multitasking DT coordinator/designer for a number of companies. Julie sent me a Facebook friend request out of the blue and said "I'd like to get to know". Guess at the time she was intrigued that I was forever "liking" a brand new Stamp Company fan page that caught my eye called the The Sweet Stamp Shop (here is their blog).

Most of the scrapping community I used to know has moved on so it was refreshing to get an invite from someone new. Thanks to Julie and Nicole Rixon, from the Sweet Stamp Shop, , I've been swept up again in a lovely creative tide of fun. I've been feeling motivated to create and for that alone Julie is worth the time and effort being put forth for her. My prayers for comfort and a lessening pain are part of this effort as well.

And secondly, many know I've been on hiatus for literally years due to family obligations but am FINALLY getting back my free time. I used to keep this blog moving and loved to create but had misplaced all my mojo as I had to focus on home care of family members. But lately I've been feeling the tug my scrap table has been pulling on me. It's being reorganized so I will create for this event. EXCITED!

Blog Hopping -Need to start again/Hay que renovarse

So just shy of two months since my last post and while I seem to be able get here and post, the truth is my creative flow has been severely hampered for the last 4 +years. It's been depressing to look at my scrap/craft table and cringe at the mess and disorganization. Seemed to be rather reflective of my own current mood -- overwhelmed with family obligations to the point of just going through the motions.

I've been really wanting to create but am daunted by what see now and how out of sync I am with trends and product. It really shouldn't matter because art is personal and you make it with what you have not what you can't get. --That right there is a perfect life lesson -- be happy with what you have not what you think you need or want. I am happy with my situation; got a wonderful steady job, kids are good, I can mostly meet my financial obligations but every now and then I just wish could do more or that a little excessive luck would fall into my lap :). I know we all feel the same way.

So I've been making little inroads into coming back and cooking up creative tapas again. Most of my craft area has been cleared out so I can revamp it. Hopefully soon will have cleared it enough to to some RAK's. But the steps I've really been taking is to start blog hopping again. I've enjoyed seeing all the creative cards/LOs/projects and they seem to be jump starting me again. It's like pouring water on a thirsty plant, or replacing the oil in the car. The synapses are starting to fire and a reboot is occurring... Here's to creative renewal!

Pues mi ultima noticia aca fue hace casi dos mes, y aunque intento pasar por aqui en mi blog y escribiros, es como mi alma creativa se haya dormido y no quiere despertar

por mucho que le ruega levantarse. Echando miradas a mis mesa donde creaba mis tapitas me desanimaba el desorden y descuido que veo. Es desafortunadamente un reflejo de mi situatcion actual en que mis obligaciones familiales han conseguido aplastarme a mi.

En realidad llevo asi casi 4 anos y estoy pasmada mientras la creatividad que busco me pasa de lado. Cuando veo a todo los nuevo productos y tecnicos me quedo triste porque se que el arte no se crea siempre y solo con lo nuevo sino con lo que tienes. Esto si en una verdad de la vida: Estar contento con lo que tienes no ocn lo que no tienes o deseas conseguir. Intento poner esto enpractica diariamente por que es cierto que estoy contenta con mi trabajo, mi familia y el poder controlar mis finanzas actuales mas o menos bien. Sin embargo seria delicioso recibir una partidad extra de suerte de cuando en cuando y se que todos nosotros sentimos igual de cuando en cuando.

Y con decir esto decidi tomar algunas pequenas acciones en adelantar mi retorno a mi cocina creativa, ya que deseo crear mis tapitas y desgustarlas de nuevo con todos.

Casi esta totalmente recogido mis mesa para poder re-organizarla. Espero poder tener unos RAKs en un tiempo breve. Y una cosa que realmente esto disfrutando son los BLOG HOPS. Visitando estos blogs me esta energizandome, como dar agua a una planta o cambiar el aceite en el coche. Me siento la recarga de mis pilas y espero estar concinando pronto

I am here. My last post was about my oldest son heading to boot camp and now, in two week's time, we go down to watch his Graduation at Parris Island SC. Will be a long drive, 1100+ miles one way, but gotta do it :) -- Have gotten a lot done as far as outside updates, some landscaping, new outdoor lighting, a shed torn down....just a couple more things and then as weather gets cooler will head indoors for updates.
The Scrap Table has seen a bit of organizing but not much else yet although am going to a Fall Fest Crop in Sept. I should be ready by then LOL -- I am also due for a blog overhaul soon..but that's it in a nutshell for now -- I did add a cool video at the bottom of my blog page, if you like music, check it out. Back soon

Pues estoy aqui. Mi ultimo mensaje hablaba de mi hijo mayor y como se iba al los Marines. Ahora dentro de 2 semanas nos vamos a Parris Island en Carolina de Sur para verle jurar a la bandera y graduarse. SEra un viaje largo en coche, un poco mas de 1100 milla ida solo, pero hay que hacer lo que sea para estar alli :) -- Por otro lado he cumplido con mi meta de arreglar y limpiar a mi jardin, quitar a una combinacion estructura/garaje viejo, anadir luces externas y mover plantas..solo quedan unos proyectos pequenos y a medida que se refrescan las temperaturas me movere a dentro a comenzar los trabajos pendientes en la casa. Sobre el tema de Scrap, no me he metido en mas que organizacion hasta ahora pero estoy planeando ir a un reunion en Sept. Creo que estare preparada entonces. Ademas estoy pensando acutalizar a mi blog muy pronto pero esto es todo de momento.. Mother's Day -- El Dia de la Madre

Soooo was sort of in the Mother's Day mood when did these two tapitas. It is fitting that this weekend is my recently passed Grandmother's memorial and then Sunday it's Mother's Day. I created and ATC and a Card using the same papers, with a similar look and feel. And last night we we sorting through old family snaps, what a trip down memory lane :). In an case here are my creations as well as a couple of snaps of my grandmother: one as a vibrant 40+ yr old and one of her last pictures before the real decline. Happy Mom's Day All!

Debia habere estado sintiendome algo nostalgico cuando me puse a crear mis ultimas tapitas. Y como este fin de semana se celebra el Dia de la Madre mas nos juntaremos para el funeral de mi abuela, pienso que era apropriado mi estado. El resultado de mi momento creativo es un ATC y una tarjeta que comparten las mismas materias y sentido. Ademas anoche revisamos a la fotos viejas de familia -- que de recuerdos buenos estaban escondidos alli :). De todas formas disfrutan de mis creaciones mas unas fotos de mi abuela cuando tenia 40 y pico anos y una de las ultimas antes de su fallecimiento. Feliz Dia de la Madre a todos!

As usual my life has been full of interruption etc but here are my latest tapitas -- a long over due puzzle swap piece and a few ATC's--- my mojo is not at the boiling point yet, more like something kept on the warming tray, but I do think my Daydream ATC with it's see-through base is pretty cool.
I have to hunt up snaps of my grandmother for her upcoming memorial so thinking might have a LO or two out of that.

Como siempre mi vida esta ultimament lleno de interrupciones pero por fin aqui van mis ultimas tapitas para vuestra desgustacion -- una pieza de puzzle de un intercambio casi olvidado y unos ATC's -- mi creatividad no esta al rojo vivo todavia, mas bien como algo mantendido a una temperatura templada, pero creo que mi ATC de "Daydream" con su base transparente es super guay. Tengo que buscar a las fotos de mi abuela por su servicio memorial asi que creo que caera una pagina o dos. Pues ahora a trabajar pero espero que os guste -- dejame un comentario :)

Ok so need to post snaps of my fresh from the burner tapas but have been fussing with the software and camera both of which have more dust than function right now LOL -- I *do* have some stuff to post and hope to have up by end of day...hang in there
I am working on altering an ice cream container to be a Prayer Box -- we'll see how turns out as this kitchen's creative burners are firing but not very consistently. So now the question is --- How far out of touch am I with the scrap trends? Help me out by posting links to cool stuff, I will be lurking on my old scrap forums so watch for me :) -- ok gotta run work calls but will be back soon.

My last post was in Janauay --- well on March 4th my grandmother passed away at 92 after a very short illeness. It ahs been a LONG 21 months but have been trying to pick up the threads of my activities that had to drop when took her into my home
Today I have been dedicating to organizing and clearing off my very neglected scrap area and I am PROUD to say that have made an amazing dent in the disorganization -- I might even be able to get creative before the weekend's out

Yup still kicking, we made it through the holidays in quiet calm mode. Nothing overwhelming thank you very much.
Drove oldest back to college in a one day 17hour car trip -- not recommended for sore knees.
Grandmother still with us physically but mentally is more like out past Uranus somewhere. Mother doing ok and youngest son and nephew doing well.Made head way in the scrap organizing dept but got put on hold over holidays, hopefully will finally get that back on track here shortly have missed in lately ALOT.-- Am getting new windows tomorrow so can finally remove the plastic covering them that made little headway in stoping the gale force winds that habitually attempted to freeze us out on the second floor.
I am on Facebook now and have seen some of you -- we friended each other --- please look me us as seem to be able to keep that straight lately.
I need to revamp this blog soon and get this back up and running as well, am thinking 2010 is raising my energy :)

I am still around..slowly but surely trying to climb out this routine ladden black hole I have been sucked into for the last 15 months -- Grandmother ended back up at home with us (long story), is still with us and still declining -- Mother has been fighting unkown virus on an off since summer and hospitalized at least once for that fun and games although doing well as of late. Oldest son off to college in Canada but fighting serious homesickness which is impacting him (and me!)
Youngest making moon eyes at me to learn to drive (yeah w/all my freetime I have LOL) and nephew doing ok.
Scrapping bug has begun nibbling at my toes again, so letting those good feelings work their way up
haven't forgotten about anyone am just focused still in other areas
happy scrapping thoughts to all!

Where do I start??
Right after my birthday post a week later, on that infamous day known as Friday the 13th, we entered an eight week whirlwind known as "Grammy fell down and broke a bone which accelerated her dementia". I have been straight out: emergency room, an operation, an emergency psychiatric evaluation, a geropsychiatric internment and, count em, THREE different nursing home stays to get her finally settled.
It was her third fall in as many weeks and this one ended with a crushed and fractured right wrist and arm. It was very bad: surgery, pins and stabilizing bar for 6 wk, now a cast for 3. This week the cast comes off but she'll need a brace because looks like the wrist bones died (they were black on the last X-ray) so no one is still really sure what the final end result well be--- the whole event basically threw out the window the tenuous last holds she had on really understanding her limitations and safety boundaries. We were exhausted and my mother tore her rotator cuff (remember HER surgeries) and is back in rehab as well -- My Easter basket overfloweth LOL LOL
As of yesterday she was finally transferred and admitted to the care facility I wanted which is 15 minutes from my home. She is looking good and bit more coherent and we got her settled in. We're giving it a few days for her to acclimate to this site, as change is very hard on dementia patients, before visiting again. Amazingly she recognized us this time although that's not always the case now.

So my friends I am seeing the light at the end of THIS tunnel. Next up Graduation, college prep, some house fix-its and then just maybe I can scrap a bit ***pretty please*** I am truly tempted to attend an upcoming Nat'l Scrap Day event in a few weeks -- think I deserve it :)

In any case to all of you I send my prayers and blessings for a wonderful Easter -- Resurrection Sunday celebration.

not a day goes by that I don't think of you all -- I can say that have been making inroads in organization so hopefully soon will be back in the scrap groove but I got over extended just before the holidays (big surprise there) and had to cut back again on commitments
Home has been demanding and this was really necessary. We went w/o power during Dec ice storm for few days, it was very trying for all especially my 91 yr grandmother. She's losing ground daily and fighting it every step of the way which is stressful on everyone. Kids are doing well but we're ramping up with my oldest's SR. year end decisions and events -- My mom has been well thankfully.
Today was a study in craziness -- car needed fixing (cha-ching), furnace crapped out (bigger cha-ching), work was nuts (no cha-ching) and so it goes
well if I could just get excited about visiting my fav scrap site I suppose woudl be cool but dont' feel have enough energy to divide my self around liek that right now
Just know I AM thinking of you all often.....

Everyone has been on my mind and I hope all that have been faithfully stopping by are well
as most know my almost 91 yr old grandmother was brought to my home ot live. Physically she is healthy but mentally she is losing ground and an alarming rate. This alone has created a series of challenges that we as a family are working to smooth out including me now having Power of Attorney, updating her health coverage, re-documenting her and the list goes on.
In truth we are doign well but free time is not that easy to carve out. I have been singing but will be having to stop that as well here shortly as the holidays near. If I can figur out how to post a music player I will finally be able to add clips of my choir and solos --- as for scrapping well.... the hope is that I can pick it up again soon.
I truly hope all are well and am goign to now try and get back on here a bit more frequently as I think I'm starting to see a tiny sliver of light at the end of this current tunnel

And it appears it's taken me a bit over 2 months to get my act together somewhat. I unfortunately haven't been cooking up anything special -- rather the even the back burners died out. I need to rekindle the flames of my creative fires so I can whip up some enticing tapitas soon.In truth I just got overhwhelmed with finances/family and personal blahs which just about sucked the fun out of things...

I can say I did do one thing which was sing. If I can get one of my computers to play the DVD recording my friend took I will post the solo I did from the musical Big River. I really enjoyed that a lot and recieved many compliments -- anyone who says that Broadway tunes are easy hasn't really tried to sing them. They are challenging!

So now need to play catch up with all my online friends -- I've missed chatting but hope to start remedying that ---

Desafortunadamente esto ha tardado un poco mas de 2 meses para, por fin, hallarme y lograr venir aca para saludaros. Y por desgusto no tengo tapitas incluso tengo que vovler a darles chispa a las llamas de mi creatividad porque el horno que ha quedado frio. La verdad es que temas financieras/familiales y personales consiguieron apagar la diversion con fuerza. Espero encontrar el punto pronto.
A pesar de esto hice al menos una actividad y esto era el cantar. Si soy capaz de copialo pondre el video de del concierto aca para que lo veias. Cante una de las cancioned del musical "Big River (Rio Grande)". Quien diga que estas canciones son faciles de interpretar nunca lo ha intentado. Realmente trabaja la voz del cantante.
Pues ahora voy a dedicarme a ponerme al dia con todos vosotros -- Os he hechado de menos -- estare por aque mas a menudo ahora seguro!

Yup I admit it.. the weather this year is kicking my backside, and yes the Earth is flat and I fell off the edge! Of course it hasn't been nearly as bad as some places, like in upstate NY where they've topped over 140 inches , but the nearly 100 we've had is exhausting. Actually I've been hiding under the bedcovers hoping it will all be gone when come out. Guess it's not to be, 'cuz even as I type we are expected to get MORE freezing rain and snow tonight into tomorrow. Needless to say this has thrown a serious wrench into my creativity machine. I am currently trying to think of how to get the gears turning smoothly again. Thanks to all who've emailed/PM'd/posted looking for me... you found me LOL and nothing serious is going on other than I NEED NEED NEED some sun in serious quantities :)
So bear with me all as I haul my wet carcass over in front of the heater and begin a serious search for my roar....:)

Es definitivo, el tiempo este invierno me esta matando y debido a que la Tierra es plana me he caido del filo! Por supuesto no se puede decir que esta tan mal como los pobres en la parte norte del estado de NY donde ha caido ya mas de 140 pulgadas de nieve pero las casi 100 caida aca realmente me ha cansada. La verdad es que llevo escondiendome bajo el cubierto de mi cama con esperanzas de que se habria derretido todo al salir. Pues asi no sera dado que mientras tecleo ya comienza a caer agua que pronto dicen cambiara a nieve y hielo. No hay que decir que esto efectivamente ha parado la maquinaria creativa mia. Estoy pensadno en como arrancarla de nuevo. doy gracias a todas que me enviasteis mails/pm's etc. Me habeis encontrado y no hay nada mal que no se solucionaria con ver MUCHO MUCHO MUCHO sol en cantidad.

Well I am sure it's just the fact that February is the middle of the winter which is why can't seem to get motivated -- that and the fact that it's a huge $$$ crunch month ( car registration, inspection, new windshield, slogging my way through my taxes -yeah I had hoped to be done by now :( ), not to mention I am simply ambivelant about work and just not feeling like participating much in my fav forums *sigh*. Yeah it's the midwinter mugwhumps for sure...BUT I will say that am very, very, very happy about having rejoined the chorus. I really missed singing and I am having a wonderful time. Wish that you could all come to the concert this Spring -- It will be all Broadway tunes and medleys FUN STUFF!
Estoy segurisima que el hecho de que febrero marca la mitad de invierno es porque no me hayo ni tampoco me puedo animar -- ah si tambien tiene que ver que es un mes muy costoso ademas ( registro de coche, su inspeccion, nuevo cristal delantera y parabrisas, mas aun me queda terminar mi papeleo para los Impuestos sobre la Renta, me cansa el trabajo y para colmo no tengo muchas ganitas de frequentar a mis foros favoritos *uy*. Ya se es una pequena depre de invierno pero si puedo contar algo super buena. Estoy SUPER contentisima de haber vuelto a cantar con el coro. Me he dado cuento de cuanto he hecho de menos esta actividad y me lo paso bomba. Ojala pudierais asistir al concierto esta primavera, sera entretenida ya que son todas canciones de Broadway!

Amazingly enough I got Sarah's ATC prompts upto date I believe -- the last ones were Humor, Sound and That is so Cute! I also received the lastest CJ's from the group on EBB Creations and so have to work on those and the Scripture Challenge ATCs. Once complete them then I will be on track to jump into the Double Dutch Class at Willow Traders. Y quizas debido a esto si conseguir terminar los ultimos ATC's para el reto de Sarah. Sus ultimos temas era el Humor, Sonido y Ay Que Guapo. Well since my last post things have sort of time warped. I saw this video clip on another site and not only is it super cool, I thought it brilliantly captured my frame of mind and reference lately. Basically because at any given moment I am either the frozen as everything keeps flowing by oblivious to my surroundings or the observer wondering why parts of me just are up to speed LOL I hope you like it and stop by again cuz I am creating just veeerrrrrryyyyyy ssssslllllooooowwwwly *wink*

I know I've been absent for a few days. Life at times just takes hold and you're forced to go with th flow. From last Friday on we've had snow everyday and once again we're due for another 5-7 inches between tonite and tomorrow. I have spent more time alone with a shovel than I care to admit lately LOL. Add to that work, home and simply a shortage of time I had to take a mini leave of absence.
Si he estado ausente por unos dias. Aveces la vid te agarra y te lleva a la fuerza. Desde el viernes pasado se ha nevado todos los dias y se espera unos 5 a 7 pulgas mas entre esta noche y manana al amanecer. La verdad es que he pasado mas tiempo a solas con mi pala que realmente es triste por una soltera JEJEJE. Anade el trabajo, la casa y una falta de tiempo a la mezcla y se entiende porque tome un pequeno descansillo.

But I put that time to pretty good use (when wasn't moving snow) and finished all the remaining class assignments for the recently finished Debbie Hodges Class at NYCScraps. Her classes a overflowing with information and prompts and well worth the effort. I'll put all the LO's below. Yesterday my youngest DS turned 14. I have no idea where the time has flown. My boys seem to be maturing faster than I can keep up lately. I'm excited to see who they are growing up to be but I miss not being able to hold them in my lap (not that they'd let me do that now of course LOL). Perhaps it's a bit of nostalgia that is coloring my outlook lately and making it a tad harder to focus. Guess it's fairly normal but I'm blaming it on the fact that need a majore spring thaw to get the blood moving again tee hee! Ayer fue el cumpleanos de mi hijo menor, ya tiene 14 anos. No acabo de entender adonde vuela el tiempo, cada dia se vea que mis hijos maduran a un paso tan rapido que casi no alcanzo comprenderlo. Sigo sus acontecimientos con emocion y felicidad pero, eso si, muchas veces hecho de menos el poder cogerlos en mis brazos (y esto no ocurrira en un futuro muy proximo por seguro jeje!) Seguro que es un poco de nostalgia que colora mi animo, y entiendo que es normal, pero yo echare la culpa a la necesidad de una subida de temperaturas para calentar la sangre congelada debido a tanta nieve jejeje!

So what's up and coming for me? Am working on Sarah's ATC weekly challenge as have once again gotten behind there; almost done there too so hope to get those up soon. And as am doing the 2008 Scripture Challenge as well need to get caught up there. Cosas pendiente? Otra vez intentado ponerme al dia con el reto de ATCs creado por Sarah porque un de nuevo estoy atrasada. Tambien tengo que trabajr un poco en el otro reto de ATCs, Versos de la Biblia por 2008 , que estoy siguiendo.

Cake Overdose -- Demasiado Tarta

So yesterday was my birthday and the funny part is that as I'd dubbed it TAKE 2 because it was a silly way to disguise my age. Well the "2" part ended up becoming a physical reality in the food arena. I made my own marble cake and as we're getting ready to server a close friend showed up out of the blue and presented me with a SECOND cake. As Marie Antoinette said "Let them eat cake" well I've got plenty LOL Pues que ayer fue mi cumpleanos y lo llame 23 otra vez porque me parecio gracioso, pero la gracia fue que hubo mas que mi edad que se doblo. Habi hecho yo un tarta de celebracion y que occurio? Un amigo aparecio inesperadamente trayendo un SEGUNDA tarta!!! Como dijo la reina francesa Maria Antoinette, " Dejadles comer tarta" ... yo si tengo mucha JE JE

I am slightly sore from shovelling yesterday as it was heavy and wet, so very hard work to move. And wonder of wonders we're expected to get yet more by this afternoon. Yeah ready for warmer weather here now-- I'm moving in with Beehive down her way in Texas and the 90+ degree she's enjoying! Hoy me encuentro un poco dolorida debido al esfuerzo que hice ayer quitando nieve. Era muy pesada y saturada de agaua que provoca dificultades and moverla. Y mira que cosa, se espera que cae aun mas hoy por la tarde. Ya, yo si estoy lista a mudarme a la casa de Beehive en Texas donde disfrutan de temperaturas ahora rondando los 90 grados!

As a personal comment am not really sure why can't seem to get fired up about scrapping lately. The enjoyment and creative factors are there when sit down at my table but just not feeling the drive. Thinking it might be the winter blahs causing me toi want to curl up with a book instead of my scissors LOL. And yet again I need to get on the stick for my ATC's because once more I am behind *rolling eyes* LOL But as I am working to serve up visual nourishment, today's tapita is my latest for the NYCScraps class by Debbie Hodge. Once again it is Snowing!!! such a long winter for even someone who enjoys watching the white stuff fall. In any case I will spend the day shovelling snow and doing all those run of the mill things you do as a working mother. **ah the school system just put out the 1 hour delay notice -- we're off to an interesting start **

So the big news today is that I turn 23 for the second time! I did this about 23 yrs ago and am not quite sure which 23 I prefer; the first go round I was looking forward to adventures, or this time because I can enjoy the adventures of others LOL . In any case if you pop by, wish me a great 23 take 2 day -- I hope to eat some cake later on in honor of the big event :) and today's tapita I didn't make myself but it still looks yummy help yourselves. Yum!

Icy water -- Agua helada

Well this morning we awoke to ice covered everything. Last night we had freezing rain fall which is always so pleasant to have to dig out from the next morning without shattering windshields. Anoche cayo una llovizna que helaba al ponerse en contacto con cualquier superficie y esta manana nos despertamos a encontrar a todo cubierto con una capa de hielo. No es nada divertido intentar quitar el hielo sin romper algo.

Needless to say I broke the shovel in my sidewalk clearing attempts... ice buildup, what a pain. And as a cool side dish to this cold main course I find a note tacked over the sink-- "Liz, there is NO hot water down here, Mom" Ding ding ding you guessed it the first floor water heater died. Thankfully, because I lease it, they came right out and put in a new one in record time. I was very impressed with their service and we now have warm shower capability again! Y no hay que decir que rompi la pala mientras intentaba quitar el hielo del acerado... agua congelada, que maldicion! Y como segundo plato en esta comida me encuentro con una nota de mi madre en la concina' "Liz, no hay agua caliente, Mama". Din Din din, acertasteis! el calentador de agua se dejo de funcionar. Menos mal el mio esta bajo garantia asi que vinieron y lo cambiaron sobre la marcha esta manana con una rapidez impresionante. Me impresiono su servicio y hemos vuelto a la normalidad.

So how fitting that my tapita should have a water theme as well -- my then 4 yr old youngest attended vacation bible school 10 yrs ago. The theme was Soul Fishing and boats, water and sailing were part of the motifs. It was created using one of my Debbie Hodge Sketches and turned out very cute. So as Dory would say enjoy and "Just Keep Swimming". Y que casualidad que mi tapita de hoy tambien tenia que ver con aqua. La pagina de hoy incluye fotos de mi hijo menor hace 10 anos cuando asistia a un campamiento de verano de nuestra iglesia local. Su tematico era qeu todos somos pescadores de almas para el Senor asi que figuraban barcos, agua y peces. Utilize una de las planillas de la clase de NYCScraps y resulto muy graciosa. Y como Dory diria, "Simplemente sigue nadando" - disfrutad!

To tell the truth I really don't know what happened to me this week. I posted in a hurry last Sunday, didn't get the Spanish translation done and then simply fell off the wagon. It didn't run me over but I definitely sat on the sidelines watching it go by...I scrapped some, read some, lazed some and worked, but somewhere in there I stopped posting just about everywhere *shrug* oh well no matter I'm back :) Buenas Noches! Al decir la verdad no entiendo muy bien que me paso esta semana. Publique mi nota del domingo, y siento no haber hecho una traduccion, y luego desapareci sin razon alguna. Hice algo de scrap, lei, mire unas peliculas y trabaje pero en medio de todo se me fueron las ganas de leer a mis foros favoritos y hacer comentarios sin mas. ah pues no importa, ya estoy de vuelta

On the personal front; the best part was getting to do something I'd not done in awhile which was sing. I haven't sung in over two years so I had a great time. The chorus will be performing excerpts from Wicked, A Chorus Line, Cats, the Lion King, Big River etc. I am super excited to be a part of it. I will need to hunt up some previous music we've done and post for you to listen to. That would be a fun thing I think. On the scrappy front; I got a gift of super yummy designer chipboard by Etcetera from Rumorbaby. I LOVED it as are all about shopping and shoes and handbangs and I even used some on my New Bag LO. Fantastic! I won a prize over at
Scrapbook Takeout for one of the recent crop challenges (the non square shaped cards). Over at Scrapperie there are starting up a month long party/challenge stop on by to get in on the fun, there are prizes involved there too for posting, creating, and playing games. En temas de scrap: recibi un reagalillo de Rumorbaby. Era un paquete de chipboard de Etcetera y su tematico era de bolsos, zapatos y ir de compras. Los utilize en mi LO de mi nuevo bolso. Que Guay! I still need to do my ATC's for this week and have managed to now get behind in my NYCScraps class. But no matter here are a couple of tapas for you all created for classes 3 and 4. Well I'm coming up for air for a bit -- and running late so my Spanish translation will be done when I return, just wanted to get this posted (lo espanol lo pondre un poco mas tarde que voy corto de tiempo)
As I last posted I took Friday off to make a 3 day weekend. Well so far it's been quite productive. There were a number of itme on the agenda and so far so good.

We started the Friday off with a Driver's Test. The previous time we went nerves kicked in and froze the brain so he missed one to many on the written part - which translated to no road test. This past Friday we went later and he was more relaxed. AAAAAND he passed the written and the road test. He was pretty nonchalant about it once got back (typical 17 yr boy behaviour) but I was very proud of him. Now to figure out how to pay for insurance! The rest of the day was spent running errands so could have the evening and Sat for scrapping.

That evening I joined the online crop over at Scrapbook Takeout. I always have a fun time there. Didn't win the bingo this time but they had some good challenges to work on. Saturday found me basically alternating between scrapping, semi cleaning and cooking. I was quite productive all things considered too and have lots of tapitas coming up. Today it is snowing once again UGH!!! UGH!!! and UGH again!!! so you guessed it we were shovelling once more. I am planning on rejoining the spring session of our community choir. The first rehearsal is this afternoon so need to get hustling here. The music that was chosen is all Broadway --Les Mis, Lion King, Cats etc. it will be a very nice change of pace as have missed singing and this will be a great way to get back into the swing.

Yup taking the day off tomorrow. We have a new policy at work of "use it or lose it" regarding vacation/pto time. I did fairly well last year and only lost about 7 hours worth of time. I hope to not have to give back anything this time but only time will tell (pun intended) And because I worked out of the "real" office yesterday, I didn't get a chance to post my last projects. I am fully up to date with Sarah's prompts and only have to do the Scripture ones now. I also plan on getting both of Debbie's sketches done as well. The plan is also join in the Girl's Night Out Crop at Scrapbook Takeout tomorrow evening. I've had fun every time I've done one of their crops; door prizes, games, bingo and fun challenges. Because of them, I've won some really nice items from their Embellishment Only Kits. They have some really cool stuff in those things.

Aca en el trabjo instituyeron una nueva politica al respecto de tiempo de vacaciones y/o tiempo personal -- o usarlo o perderlo. el ano pasado so lo perdi unas 7 horas, este ano no pienso perder ninguna asi que comienzo a comerme las horas antes. Debido a que trabaje en mi oficina real ayer no pude hacer comentario ni publicar mis ultimos proyetos. Ya estoy al dia con los retos de Sarah. solo me quedan los de los version de la bibilia y mis clase de Debbie. Mi plan es participar en el Crop de Muchachas en Scrapbook Takeout manana por la tarde. A Tuesday that's like a Monday for many who had the day off for MLK and we're all dragging, right? Well I got a bright boogeying tapita for ya to make you wanna step right up. I am so almost caught up here with my ATC's and I really liked this prompt -- Moving and Grooving. The best part is that was able to use a pair of earings that I actually used to wear (bout 20 yrs ago) when I was actually feeling funky. I loved that they were women, funky shaped and dancing. they used to make me feel FUN when I'd put them on --not mention that they were great conversation starters. A bien, un martes que funiciona como un lunes debido al festivo de Martin Luther King y todos con sueno, si? Pues tengo a una tapita llena de energia para todos. Os va a hacer querer bailar. Estoy casi al dia con mis ATC's y me llamo la atencion este tema mucho -- el de estar en la onda y todo marcha bien. Lo mejor de sto era que utilize unos pendientes que actualmente llevaba (lo juro de veras) hace 20 anos cuando me sentia provocativa y llena de animo. Me encantaba su forma de mujer con este estilo funky y lleno de movimiento casi bailando. Cuando me los ponia me entraban ganas de divertirme, y aparte abrieron conversacion por forma tan inusual. Asi que teneis una pieza que os representa escondido en algun rincon? Iros a sacarlo a la luz y sentirse divertidos hoy!

Memories are tapitas served to warm us up from the inside out as well as stimulate the senses. The Everyday Scrapping class got me thinking about that with the class LO due today. It had not been until I'd moved away from places that I really got to be a tourist. After moving away from CT, I returned to visit Mystic Seaport, leaving Fairbanks, AK resulted in me finally taking the Riverboat ride, and after moving back to the US I returned to Spain, with kids in tow, to explore all the things that had been in my backyard for 13 yrs. Nuestras memorias son tapitas servidas para calentarnos desde adentro mientras nos estimulan los sentidos y recuerdos. La clase de NYCScraps me hizo pensar en temas como este mientras creaba mi paginas. Me di cuenta que no fue hasta que yo habia mudado de los sitios que me converti en turista y volveria para disfrutar de sus atracciones; cuando me fui de CT volvi luego a conocer a Mystic Seaport, al salir de Fairbanks, AK me impulso a tomar el viaje en barco tipo Riverboat, al despues de no pisar tierra espanola por cerca de 10 anos regresamos los ninos y yo para redescubrir a sitio que estaban a mano durante los 13 anos que vivia alla.And so I decided this past Fall to "see" my home of Rochester as if I were a tourist doing Leaf Peeping. My boys thought I was nuts but it was a gorgeous day and well worth the time. The snaps I've used in this LO are the result of that afternoon's walkabout downtown. If you've never been the New England in the Fall I highly recommend it. Right now these snaps serve to remind me that, yes, the snow is temporary and that I have thousands of nooks and crannies in my own town to yet explore despite living here for 10 years. Why not become a backyard tourist for a day? You just might rediscover the excitement of moving w/o leaving your home. Asi es como fue que este otono pasado decidi "ver" a mi ciudad de Rochester como si fuera una turista llegada solo para disfrutar del cambio de hojas de los arboles. Mis hijo me vieron como una loca pero la verdad el dia era espledido y merecia la pena. Las fotos utilizadas en mis paginas sn las sacadas durante mi caminata por el centro. Si no habeis tenido la oportunidad de conocer a la zona de Nueva Inglaterra, puedo recomendarlo como un viaje bien bonito. Esta fotos me hacen recoradar que si, la nieve es temporal y que aun hay miles de lugares en mi propia casa por conocer a pesar de haber vivido aca casi 10 anos. Y porque no volverse turista vosotros, es posible que os gusten la aventura y el redescubrir lo bonito de mudarse sin empaquetar a nada.

Well I finally got over here today:) I do have some ATC's to post that get me almost upto date with Sarah's -- I still have to do my Scripture one and need to put finishing touches on my sketch before posting, I took forever with it as didn't like my paper choices at first so kept taking it apart. Anyhow here are today's mini tapitas -- ATC's left to right:the wonder of winter on that day, happy and uh-oh... Ya estoy aqui por fin :) Pongo unos ATC's que acabe y con estos estoy casi al dia -- me queda hacer el del reto de versos biblicos y terminar la pagina de mi clase. Esta ultimas me ha costado la vid adebido a que no me gustaba mi seleccion de papeles, no cuajaba el conjunto y tenia que desmontarlo multiples veces. I've put my tapita first today. I thought it was appropriate because we all make plans, set goals and (with luck and perserverance) we actually attain some of them. We'd all like to grab the Brass Ring and know we did it, whatever IT is for each of us. This ATC is inspired by SARAH (Sassymermaid. She started a 52 week challenge approx 33 weeks ago. Most of those who were following along have dropped off and one of her last blog posts was that she'd be the last one standing.... well I may have gotten behind but I'm gonna finish right along with her, cuz that's what commitment means setting goals, working through each step and getting to the end. We might slow down, get derailed and even lose interest but EVERYONE can get back on track. Hoy comienzo con la presentation de la tapita antes. Crei que era algo apropriado dado que todos hacemos metas y planes (y con suerte y perserverancia) a veces los alcanzamos. A todos nos gustaria coger al anillo de oro y saber que conseguimos realizar el plan sin importar lo que era. Este ATC fue inspirada por uno de los temas del reto annual que comenzo Sarah (Sassymermaid) hace mas de medio ano. Casi todo el mundo que seguia sus ideas semanales lo han dejado y ell misma comento ultimamente en su blog que seria la unica todavia de pie pero lo acabaria como sea. ... Reconozco que perdi el hilo hace unas semanas pero yo tambien voy a acabarlo junto con ella por que esto es lo que es entrar en un compromiso. Se puede cansarse, perder el interes e incluso salir del plan pero eso si TODOS podemos, si queremos, volver a ponernos derechos.

For Kerri I will explain exactly how I did this one as it is SUPER simple.
I actually had to do it twice cuz the first try was a mess cuz despite littel words I can't spell to save my life LOL. Y como me lo habia pedido Kerri explicare como hice este ATC. Y aunque es muy simple yo tuve que hacerlo dos veces ya que la primera era un disastre dado que no se escribir JE JE.

I used a a precut ATC card (purchased from Oriental Trading) and then cut an identically sized piece from a scrap of light gray mottled patterned paper. I adhered it to the card. I then used Stamping Up ink to edge the piece, swiping it directly from the pad to the paper. I lightly tapped the pad all over the card to add color but NOT cover up the gray. The Brass Ring is the a zero you can buy at any hardware store. I got mine at a yardsale for a quarter. I laid it down and lightly traced the inside area with a pencil so I'd know where I could stamp the phrase. Using Black Stazon and some mini alpha stamps I added my words, then erased the pencil. Because the Brass had two drilled holes (for the nails of course) I hunted around in my brad stash and found two bling brads in a light blue color and stuck them through. Placed pop dots on the back and then adhered to the card, making sure the words fit inside as had previously measured. Simple, visual and yes a bit heavy LOL! I hope you enjoy it
Utilize las tarjetas ATC precortadas (disponibles en Oriental Trading) y corte un papel color gris claro al mismo tamano. Se los pegue juntos. Paso seguido cogi mis tintas de Stamping UP, seleccione uno azul y la aplique al borde de la tarjeta de manera que se quedo bien demarcado. Despues con una mano muy ligera pase el aplicador directamente por todo el resto de la superficie para dejar una impression suave del mismo color pero NO cubriendo el color de fondo. El anillo metalico dorado (el numero cero) se puede conseguir en cualquier ferreteria, yo compre el mio en un yardsale por 25 centavos. Puse el anillo y marque con un lapiz la area dentro del cero para poder estampar mi frase. Paso seguido cogi tinta STAZON en negro y mis alfas mini para poner las palabras y cuanod termine, borre la linea del lapiz. Seleccione un par de brads tipo cristal azul claro para cubrir los agujeros del cero. Entonces puse adhesivo tipo popdot al metal y lo aplique a la tarjeta, tomando cuidado de aliniarme para no tapa las letras. Muy facil y visual..ah y eso si pesa un poco JE JE! Espero que os guste!

Monday is Newday & a Snowday (again), Lunes - Nuevo Comienzo y Nieve (otra vez)

We here in the North East are destined to have one of the whitest winters on record. Yes once again it is snowing and at rate of approx 2 inches per hour. I can hardly wait to dig my shovel into it come my lunch hour. The plows have been by and I have the requisite 2.5 foot bank in my driveway.....Not to mention that will have to get on my roof because thanks to the previous snow fall I sprang a leak due to ice dam buildup which I will need to avoid this go round at all costs. Ah yes the wonders of winter. En el Noreste parece que stamos destinados a tener uno de los inviernos mas blancos desde hace mucho tiempo. Esto si, un avez mas esta nevando al paso de 2 pulgadas por hora ( 4 cm/hora) Las idea de moverla una vez mas con la pala me mata. Los equipos quitanieves ya han pasado llenando mi entrada con casi 2.5 pies de nieve...sin duda esto implica una subida a mi tejado dado que entro agua por culpa de las otras caida causando una accumlation de hielo. Ah si las glorias de invierno.

What I DO like about snow is the silent way it falls and how beautiful and pristine everything looks under it's white mantel. It almost makes you forget the hassle of it when watch it fall ...almost but not quite LOL Cabe decir que si hay unas cosillas que me gustan de la nieve, como la manera tan silenciosa que caye y como presnta un mundo totalmente virginal y limpia. Today's tapita actually has some meat on it I hope you enjoy it. Last night I worked on an ATC for a the 2008 Scripture Challenge and am pleased with it all things considered. I dont usually extend off my ATC's but I do like how it looks. Faith is so important in everything we do and are, be it directed inward toward our self abilities, outwards as we support family and friends, or more importantly as the guiding compass of our outlook on life as we move forward spiritually. In the verse from Hebrews 11.1 the words "substance","evidence", "hoped" and "not seen" are so powerful. It's like walking in a complete white out snow storm, not only believing but also KNOWING that when come out of it, you'll find that warm cozy home fire burning just for you. It's comfort, happiness, satisfaction, knowledge and conviction all wrapped up in one. Like I said pretty happy with the results and how it jogged the memory banks as well. I think I need to tap into it a bit more. Happy Monday. La tapita de hoy actualmente contiene algo de carne, espero que os gusta. Anoche acabe un ATC para el reto de utilizar un pasaje de la bibilia para crear un ATC. La Fe era el tema. Es tan importante en nuestras vidas; dirigido internamente para animarnos, hacia afuera cuanod apoyamos a nuestros seres queridos y amistades, y porsupuesto como nuestro compas con respecto a nuestros convicciones espirituales. En el verson de Hebreos 11.1, las palabras "sustancia", "demostracion", "se esperan" y "no se ven" son poderosas; para me evocan un mezcla compleja de emociones y sensaciones tal como, felicidad, socorro, acojamiento, sabiduria y satisfaccion. Todos revueltos juntos. Es como andar atravez de una tormenta de nieve, todo blanco sin poder ver claro tus pasos pero sabiendo con total certeza que al salir de ello no solo encontraras un lugar calentito sino que estar alli especialmente creado por ti. Algo fuerte ya se peor como dije antes tenia carne y me hizo pensar. Creo que tengo que arroparme un poco mas en mi fe. Feliz lunes a todos.

Ok, It's a new year and so, as I'm in a funk and slump I'm trying to self motivate. Anyone here want to come along??? I really need a push and inspiration.
I have a number of things scrapwise piling up and a whole slew of new page calls just went out.... adn what am I doing???? NOTHING, no tapitas no creating.. I've been running past my scrap table with blinders on -- I'm pathetic but I guess I jsut need the break (oh I DO have a mini tapita to post a bit futher down though -- I can't STARVE you simply because I'm in denial LOL SO to make up for not having posted in 3 days I've got a long full post of STUFF! Grab a seat and start scrolling.
Bien como llevo 3 dia sin publicar nada de nada, y no estoy animanda en el campo creativo, he decidido a tomar accion para motivarme. Alguien quiere accompanarme? Tengo multiples projectos en limbo y acaban de salir un monton de llamdas de revistas para paginas y que hago yo? Pues absolutamente nada productivo, me escondo de mi mesa de scrap como si fuera la plaga, soy patetica aun que creo que es mi manera de tomar un descanso. Bien voy a escribiros algo en condiciones y como no es bueno no compartir con vosotros si tengo una tapita muy peque (pero al menos tengo una verdad) Cojer un asiento y echar un vistazo.

First up are the NYCScrap Online Classes HERE . If you've never taken one from here they are really good. I am taking the Debbie Hodge one as the 1 in 48 is a repeat of one I've already taken. And... I have another one that will be taking in March over at Willow Traders presented by Susan Costanza aka SusieQScrapbook I took the class she just finished presenting over there in from June through Dec. That one was very nicely presented and had a number of Guest Designers using her sketches. It was a much slower pace but very full, this time she's alternating single and double page LO's and moving a much faster pace. Should be pretty intresting. She designs for The ScrapRoom and Apron Strings. ALSO if you'd like to get in on a drawing for a free pass then just do a LO using one of the two Sketches she posted in the announcement and post it on Willow Traders and you're entered.I got a lot done with both of these previous classes so, if you can plan that far out and are interested in keeping up the a nice pace (depending on which class you took) then check them out.

Y una vez acabada esta y con unas semanas de descanso estoy apuntado a una que comienza en marzo en Willow Traders. Estara presentada por Susan Costanza aka SusieQScrapbook. Hice una de sus clases previamente y me gusto bastante por ser un estilo y ritmo totalmente distinto a las previamente mencionadas. Tenia ella varias disenadoras creando paginas con sus patrones para animar la creatividad. Ella hace patrones tambien por los club de Kits The ScrapRoom y Apron Strings. Y ademas esta haciendo una rifa para cinco entrada gratuitas -- solo tienes que crear un pagina utilizando uno de los dos patrones puesto en el annuncio en Willow Traders y publicarla en el foro para tener una posibilidad. Yo consegui terminar muchas paginas con estas clases asi que si os animais pasar a informaros y quizas nos veremos.

Tomorrow I plan on finding some time to re-organize my scrap area. Perhaps I'll rediscover my mojo which I know must be hiding underneath. Primary Freedoms, Nuestras Libertades Primarias

The Tapita of the Day dovetails nicely with events occuring in my home state of NH. As most know today we here in the Live Free or Die state are exercizing our voting rights in the First in the Nation Primary. Unless you live under a rock in the middle of the ocean most everyone knows we're unindated with candidates and their publicity. All in all though, it is a priviledge and honor to be able to freely decide our government. I hope others will have gone to the polls. I did.
Hoy la tapita del dia refleja eventos historicos ocurriendo de momento en mi estado de NH. Al menos que vivais bajo las rocas al fondo del oceano, todo el mundo sabe que hoy se celebra el Primario en este estado cuyo dicho es "Vivir libres o morir". Nosotros ejercemos nuestro derecho al voto para empujar la seleccion de los candidatos finales al Presidente del pais. La verdad es un privilegio y un honor tener esta oportunidad. Espero que muchos otros habran ido a votar. Yo fui.

New Hampshire is known for getting right in there are deciding these types of things. Our state's history is peppered with many such tidibits and The Fort at #4 is one of them. The outpost/fort constructed there was a thriving community in the mid 1700's. It was there, in what is known today as Charlestown, NH,that one of the first battles of the French and Indian War was fought. Every year, in August, Colonial and Native American reenactors converge there and bring The Fort at #4 back to life. It's a wonderful family day to spend speaking with people who make the history of that time seem to be really happening. They even recreate the battle scene, complete with cannons. I hope you like this LO, it seemed appropriate to speak of history even as we are making history again. El estado de New Hampshire esta bien conocido por llevar el pulso de este tipo de cosas politicas. Su historia esta repleto de anectodas al respecto y una de ellos es el Fort at #4. Este recinto era una comunidad muy prospera y en este lugar, conocida hoy como Charlestown, NH, unas de la primears batallas de la Guerra entre los Frances y Indios ocurrio. Cada agosto gente se dedica a replicar la vida de la epoca tanto de la punta de vista de los colonos del Fort at #4 como de los indios indigenos norteamericanos de la zona. Se puede pasar un rato en familia muy buena aprendiendo y disfrutando historia en vivo, incluso la recreacion de la batalla completo con canones. Espero que esta tapita os gusta, me parecio apropriada por que otra vez volvemos a crear historis.

Well all I've been a bit remiss in posting. Honestly work got out of hand on Friday and then I spent Friday evening and Sat. AM shovelling snow off my roof. My boys bedroom sprang a leak AGAIN thanks to ice dam build up and needless to say wasn't very happy. I also spent time having my DS#1 practice driving and today I've been chilling. Que puedo decir? no he publicado nada en uno dias. Al decir verdad, el trabajo me cogio de lleno el viernes y por la tarde/noche tuve que subir al tejado de mi case a quiatr nieve. Una salida de agua aparecio en el cuarto de los ninos debido al hielo que formo arriba. Es la seguna vez que esto ocurre asi que me ocupo bastante hast el Sabado incluso. Es mas salimos yo y mi hijo mayor a practicar el conducir para sacar su carnet (con suerte) esta semana. Y hoy no hecho nada.

I'm having a bit of a creativity block and nothing seems to want to materialize. This seems to be a general affliction as my kids are complaining that my cooking is boring as well right now. Tapitas, be they paper or food, it seems are not being whipped up with any speed right now :) In fact I have a LO I've taken apart now 3 times, along with an unfinished altered notebook and a half finished card on my table just staring at me. It's like can get the basics done and then someone turns off the spigot LOL. Gonna have to break out the big guns to blow up this dam and let the reservoir run. Anyone for a swim? Todo lo que intoe crear se queda a medio, de hecho tengo dos paginas que he vuelto a cambiar 3 veces al menos y una libreta a media alterar en mi mesa. Me esta pasando lo mismo en la cocina segun mis hijos tambien. Se queja que la comida les aburre. Mis tapitas, sean de papel o comida, estan de pena ahorita. Es como si alguien haya apagado la corriente. Voy a tener que buscar unas pilas industriales pronto para poner en mocion mi cerebro -- Alguien sabe de una marca buena?

Kerri has asked for a tutorial on ATC's (Artist Trading Cards) -- well I guess I will have to mull that over and see if can do something for that. I love making them (EEK, Sarah I'm still 4 weeks behind here *rolling eyes*) so perhaps could something like that. Let me think on it.

short and sweet --- today was steady at work. I was hopping all day. At least it kept the blood flowing, it barely got about 5 degrees all day. VERY cold here! That's not a bad thing but I couldn't finish my LO (priorities you understand) so worked a bit on it this evening and should have up tomorrow sometime. Corto -- hoy el trabajo fue muy seguido. Estuve bien ocupado a todo momento. Al menos esto se calentaba la sangre, ya que apenas llego a 5 grados hoy. QUE FRIO HACE ACA! en realidad no estaba mal simplemente no podia terminar mi pagina (mis prioridades entendeis?) asi que trabaje sobre ello esta tarde y peinso publicarlo aca manana.

Update on my ongoing publication quest -- the last two submission deadlines I did have come and gone along with the announcement dates and once a again nada, zip, zilch *sigh* will keep plugging along but I am obviously missing the mark here. I am behind in my ATC's for Sarah now but the ideas just aren't flowing there.Not stressing at all cuz like her prompts just slowing falling behind heehee. Next week I will be following the 2008 Scripture ATC Challenge (the link is on the side bar). I felt it was time to renew that area of reading and what better way than to combine it with something I enjoy doing. Estoy atrasadisima con los ATC's de Sarah. No me viene ideas para crear las tarjetilla. No me preocupa simplement no me gusta quedarme atras porque es mas dificil ponerse uno al dia entonces. La semana qeu viene comienzo un nuveo reto de ATCs utilzando la biblia (el link para el 2008 Scripture ATC Challenge esta al lado). This is what it looked like outside my home at 7:30 in the morning today. We greeted New Year's Day by shovelling yet again to add to our New Year's Eve year end winter salute. Truth be told there isn't much more room to put the snow. I understand we're to drop into the below zero temps tonight and tomorrow and can look forward to warmer temps (mid 40's) next week. I like how beautiul everything looks but thinking about 3 more months of THIS is a bit daunting. Here are a couple more shots of the morning, the sunrise and my yard. Esto es como se ha quedado el esterior de mis casa esta manana a las 7:30. Saludamos al Ano Nuevo manejando la pala para anadir esta nieve a la que recibmos como regalo de Noche Viejo. No hay sito adonde ponerla ya! Segun entiendo hoy las temperaturas bajaran a bajo cero por unos dias y para la semana que viene subiran a los 40. Me encanta lo bonito que se queda todo pero pensando en que aun quedan 3 meses mas realmente cansa. Pongo un par de fotos mas de esta manana, el amanecer y uno de mi jardin.

As for scrapping well with all that snow pushing cropping was kinda left by the wayside -- I hope to have some new things up tomorrow, assuming of course I am not called to shovel duty unexpectedly :) Pues debido a toda la nieve que tire ayer no dejo mucho tiempo para el scrap -- Espero que manana tenga algo nuevo, siempre que no tengo que reportar como Recluta de Pala de nuevo :)

I'm sitting here in front of my laptop thinking about New Year's past and present.... In 2008 I hope to do new things but I can't help remembering all the old as well. As a child we never did anything spectacular to usher in the new, we simply headed to bed w/o giving the holiday much thought. I think the first time I did anything special I was a Junior in HS. My mother allowed me to attend a friend's NY party. Her parents chaperoned. There must have been over 40 kids and we all listened to Casey K's Top 100 Countdown, danced, played games and ran outside in 40 degree below temps (Fairbanks AK is cold then) banging pans. On occasion we've even celebrated the Jewish New Year (in Sept) and blown the chofar to ring that in as well. A few years later, first as an exchange student and then a permanent residentin Spain, I was introduced to gobbling down 12 grapes during the last 12 seconds to midnight. This Spanish custom is supposed to bring you good luck (assuming you don't choke to death first LOL) Estoy sentada aca delante del laptop pensando en los fines de ano pasados y presente.... en el 2008 espero hacer muchas nuevas cosas pero no dejo de recordar algunas memorias pasadas. Cuando era chica no recuerdo haber hecho nada espcatular, mas bien fuimos a la cama sin dar importancia a la fecha. Creo que la primera vez que hice algo era en el tercero de Bachillerato (High School). Mi madre me permitio asistir a una fiesta en cas de una amiga. Sus padres estaban presentes tambien. Alrededor de 40 jovens escuchamos a Casey K en la radio, bailamos, jugamos varios juegos y al sonar los ultimos segundo salimos gritando afuera tocando a ollas de cocina con cucharas. Solo cuando son jovenes que esto puede ser divertido en Fairbanks Ak a los cuarenta bajo cero JEJE. Mas tarde he celebrado incluso el ano nuevo judio tocando al chofar para celebrar. Y luego aprendi a tomar las uvas en Espana, primero como estudiante de intercambio y luego com immigrante. Si consigues tomarlas todas en los ultimos 12 segundo se dice que trae la buena suerte; esto si no acabas ahogandote JE JE

Since I became a parent I can't remember doing much in the way of special outings except for the only year my town held it's one and only First Night Celebration. I made sure the boys were well napped beforehand and we set out to have fun. We walked the snow parade and watched the Mayor (dressed as Baby New Year) start the festivities, we ate food, danced in the Community Center and generally had fun. But in the end we were all in bed BEFORE the actual new year count down began. I simply smiled as I drifted off to the sound of the first firework explosions. And tonight? I will probably hit the hay soon after posting this. Desde que me converti en madre no recuerdo hacer nada en especial con la excepcion de la celebracion que se hizo en my ciudad para festijar el ano nuevo. Asegure que los nino se tomaron la siesta y luego salimos a la calle. Participamos en una cabalgata de ninos, vimos al alcalde vestido como el Ano Nuevo, probamos comida y bailamos. No obstante acabamos en la cama mucho ANTES de que se comenzara la cuenta atras. Yo sonrie al escuchar a los primeros cohuetes explotarse y me quede dormida al momento. Y esta noche? Probablemente ire a la cama al acabar este cuento.

I consider myself extremely blessed to be able to go to sleep with all of my family under one roof. While I love to have a good time (just ask anyone over at the Memory Makers Forum about Mango M's) I find I am most happy just being home hearing the background noises of my boys and nephew fussing over their PS2 games, the radio in the background, the occasional thumping my mother makes downstairs, the street traffic etc. But most of all I give thanks that God knows what I need and will set my next year's path according to His plan. Because I and mine are His, I look forward to all that He has planned for me as a child in Christ. Yo me considero extremademente afortunada de poder tener a toda mi familia bajo el mismo techo. Y a pesar de que me encanta divertirme (pregunatale a la gente en Memory Makers Forum sobre Mango M's) me encuentro contenta simplemente estando en mi casa escuchando a los ninos discutiendo sobre sus PS2, a la radio de fondo, los ruidos que hace mi nadre en su cuarto, el trafico de calle etc. Pero sobre todo doy gracias a Dios que sabe lo que mas necesito y requiero, y que el 2008 se me presentara tal como El crea conveniente para mi. Dado que yo y mi familia son Suyas, miro hacia adelante con anticipacion a todo lo que nos tiene preparado como sus hijos en Cristo.

2007 is quickly coming to a close. I've been on vacation for the last week and truthfully have been about as productive as a slug (no insult to the slug as I have no idea how productive they really can be). I had a To Do List, (anyone remember my list post?) but somewhere along the line sleeping in 'till 8 am,wearing PJ's all day, playing scrabble with my kids, watching a few movies with my kids etc crowded out the other stuff like, organizing the attic, patching the odd hole, or even scrapping. I like to think I have my priorities fairly straight when it comes to family but I know I will kick myself later on for still having my To Do list LOL! Se acaba el 2007 ya. Esta semana he estado de vacaciones y al decir la verdad no he hecho nada productivo. Si un gusano puede ser productivo me imagino que asi habre sido you Je Je. Tenia yo una Lista de Quehaceres (alguien recuerda mi nota al respecto de listas?) pero,no se exactamente cuando, se fue puesto de lado y opte a dormir hasta las 8, llevar pijama todo el dia, jugar con mis hijos, ver peliculas con mis hijos y otras cosas similares. Todo esto en vez de organizar el atico, arreglar unos agujerillos en la pared o incluso el scrap. Me gusta crear que tengo bien puesto mis prioridades pero se que me dare una patada en el trasero por no haber seguido a mi Lista mas adelante Je Je.

I DID finish a couple of LO's, one of which has been hanging around from the previous Debbie Hodge class as NYCScraps. I will say that 2007 has been EXTREMELY productive in that area for me. I can say that have scrapped over 200 pages, easily 100 ATC's, created another 100 greeting cards, worked on two Circle Journals, alterd a few items AND created this blog. All of this while working and homemaking.... It's no wonder my To Do List was tossed in the corner this holiday LOL LOL Maybe tomorrow I'll think of some resolutions to post ,but in any case, I invite you to enjoy the last tapitas of 2007-- lots of color to feast your eyes, the holiday one is from this Christmas Morning. Por otro lado si acade con un par de paginas, una es de la clase de Debbie Hodge en NYCScraps. Tambien puedo decir que 2007 has sido un timepo MUY productivo con respecto de mi arte de scrap. He creado mas de 200 paginas, sin duda mas de 100 ATC's, cerca del mismo numero de tarjetas, trabajado dos albumes especiales tipo Circle Journal mas alterar varias otras y levantar este Blog. Y todo esto mientras trabajo y mantengo una casa -- no hay que preguntar el porque mi ultimas Lista se quedo sin mirar siquiera JE JE JE. Quizas manana pondre algun que otra resoluciones pero primero os invito a desgustar de mis ultimos tapitas de este ano 2007 -- mucho color para llenar a los ojos, la de Navidad es del 25 de este mes.

Yup yesterday I was "supposed" to have gotten this posted but like all things planned they never go off quite as you expect. I think I had a "holiday hangover" LOL couldnt' seem to stay out of my own way so basically called it a dud day. So took some Ibuprofen and did the PJ boogie all day. I was capable of playing on very long game of Super Scrabble but after 2.5 hours of that I had much for brains. Ayer debia haber publicado esto pero como no podia encadenar mis pensamientos de una manera coherente opte por no hacer nada LOL Parecia una resaca sin el alcohol. Tome unas pastillas y descanse. Jugue una partida de Super Scrabble con mis hijos pero despuese de 2.5 horas de juego acabe con mi cerebro definitivamente.

From what I understand the goal of a blogger is to be seen and read...I had visit other blogs and they too are doing the same thing. Some have been in out there for a long time others not so much, some are high profile others are under the radar. Many are for personal enjoyment others are for the masses but all want you to stop by and be counted. And to that end I dutifully added a tracker to boost my happiness level.
Segun entiendo la meta de uno que mantiene un blog es ser visto y leido... visito otro blogs y aprecio sus esfuerzos al mismo fin. Algunos llevan mucho tiempo, otros no. Algunos son escritos por gente bien conocidos, otros no. Algunos esritos por satisfacion personal, otros por el publico. Pero todos desean ser descubiertos y difrutados por gente y por supuesto que sean contados. Y por no quedarme atras tambien puse llevo un contador para darme esa alegria de saber que "alguien" encontro lo mio y le gusta.

So what a surprise to realize that in barely 4 months of truly dedicated posting (yeah I super slacked at the beginning) I all of a sudden have surpassed the 1500 mark in page views (this means someone actually hit my site, they may not have stayed but they found me). On the flip side nearly 1000 that have dropped by decided to truly visit and share a tapa with me. I believe I will be able to borrow a well known slogan and say "over 1000 served" as I head into 2008. Which makes me flabbergasted and very pleasantly surprised that so many like what they see. Good Morning!

I've been snared in the Holiday Rush! LOL Since I was running behind and just went on vacation, I've been playing catch up. My shopping is almost complete, have a couple of items to get today and then on to wrapping. The tree is up and semi lighted. I say semi because depsite testing the lights a top string died after getting is decorated. It is listing a bit too; a true Charlie Brown tree. So today is finish it up day-- last of the gift shopping, grocery shopping and then wrapping. We're not going anywhere on Christmas Day so that makes it easier and I'm hoping to do Chinese food, so no cooking either which will be fantastic! Buenos Dias! El frenesi de las fiestas por fin me agarro! JeJe como no estaba al dia con mis preparaciones y acabo de comenzar las vacaciones, me he puesto a acabarlo todo en poco tiempo. La compra de regalos esta a punto de estar terminada, solo queda envolverlas. Nuestro arbol tambien esta levantado pero no sin sus peculiar detalles: despues de que se decoraro y puesto en sitio algunos de sus luces fallaron! ademas ha decido tirarse un poco de lado como un borrachin. De veras es un arbol como el de Charlie Brown! Hoy me queda hacer la compra de comestibles y los ultimos rgalillos etc. Como no planeamos ir a ningun lado en Navidad espero comprar comida china para tener el dia super relajado, fantastico.

On the scrapping front, not much. I am not centered enough to create anything really new and exciting so haven't. I did a very simple page for the challenge at Scrapperie but it was a struggle as my focus was elsewhere (very hard to do a challenge over this type of holiday). Thank goodness was a non-picture LO and mostly journaling. I'll post it as a tide you over scrappy snacklike tapita but I think there won't be much else till after the holiday. Well off to get moving... have a great day all! Pues del scrap no mucho. No estoy enfocada para crear cosillas nuevas dado que la fiesta me ocupa todo el tiempo. And as the snowflakes fall, yet again, I was awakened to the lovely sound of a ringing phone thanks to the Automatic Honeywell Alert System School Notification Phone Calling Robot (lol). No matter got a ton of things to do today inside so can be ready to hit the streets tomorrow and this weekend. Yippee! I've got one day to go till grab some much needed vacation time, and am I ever ready! I am so not with it this Holiday. The tree still stands naked in the living room, no decorations or lights anywhere, and let's not speak with shopping EEK! And the funny part is that no one's complaining about it at all in the house, not even the 10 yr old. LOL No matter I will get things together by the weekend, well if this next snow storm planned for tomorrow doesn't throw a wrench into the works ... Ole, un dia mas hasta cojo unas vacaciones bien esperadas y si que tengo muchas ganas. Esta Navidad voy de culo. El arbol esta levantado pero sin decoracion alguno, no he puesto luces en ninguna parte, y mejor no hablar de la compra de regalos, VAYA! Pero lo mas gracioso de todo es que nadia en la casa comenta ni se queja de la falta, ni siquiera el chico de 10 anos. Ah pues lo pondre bien si puedo salir el jueves, suponiendo que la nueva tormenta de nieve esperado para manana noche no interfiera.

I am mulling over submitting again for some DT's, in fact I did for one in a field of over 60+! We'll see how that goes and as for the other two submissions I have till Friday and the end of the month to go there....Es ofiical otra vez, la ultima pagina que presente a una llamad de publicacion no fue seleccionada, asi que puedo publicarla aqui para todos. Today we've got 3 foot high snow banks form shovelling and plowing, very cold crisp temps, a clear blue sky and a two hour school delay while they search for the parking lots and sidewalks LOL
Hoy tenemoos casi un metro de nieve amontanada en el acerado debido a las maquinas quitanieves, temperaturas bien frescas, un cielo claro y azul mas una demora de 2 horas en los colegios mientras buscan a los aparcamientos y abrir pasos hacia ellos JeJe.

I guess I'm exploring super simple scrapping the last few days because like y-day's today tapita serving uses one sheet of CS, a homemade card top I received, two photos, some HS rubons, rickrack and journaling nothing more. And it isn't even a topic I usually have any fotos of normally. Creo que estoy exploranod el hacer paginas simple porque como la pagina de ayer,la de hoy tiene una sola hoja d papel, la parte superior de una tarjeta de felicitacion, dos fotos, unos aplicativos de Heidi Swapp, cinta rickrack, y comentarios escrito a mano, nada mas. Y es de una fiesta que normalmente no tengo fotos.

And today's Poem Pages include my second creation, the Letter U. Once again I went with non-traditional holiday colors and it turned out somewhat Americana in the end. I was very pleased with the result and hope you also will like it. Y las paginas de hoy del poema incluye mi segunda creation, La U. As an East Coaster, I am being treated this morning to a wonderful winter white out. It is dumping fast and furiously outside right now. I foresee some serious shovelling as an afternoon exercise routine LOL I'm gonna try changing up the bilingual part here let me know if you like it better.

I received an email this morning with a pleaseant surprise. I won a RAK. I had commented on Jany's Blog about having made something using a Victorian Theme. Ok you all have been super patient this week with me. I haven't been able to create anything new but last night I did. It was done for the challenge I'm participating in at Scrapperie. I barely squeaked in under the wire with this week's which was to use song lyrics. It is about my DS2 and uses the song Unwritten by Natasha Beddingfield. Anyhow this one used one sheet of CS, markers to doodle and journal, MMpaint, alpha stencils, pop dots, one photo and nothing else. It was a super simple ingredient list to create what I think is a rather striking tapa. I hope you'll enjoy this one of my youngest DS. De veras habeis estado muy pacientes esta semana. No me ha sido una semana muy buena para la creatividad pero si tengo algo hoy. Acabe una pagina para el reto de Scrapperie en que teniamos que utilizar la letra de una cancion. La mia es de mi hijo segundo y la cancion es Unwritten por Natasha Beddingfield. Los ingredientes son muy simples; papel, rotuladores para los dibujillos y comentarios, pintura, unas plantillas de alfabeto, pegamiento y una sola foto. El resultado me gusto mucho y es muy llamativo. Espero que os guste igual.

So I have a somewhat busy day today -- a major snow storm is expected sometime tonite so need to get out and about. Hopefully will get some things accomplished.
In working on the Christmas cheer department at home we watched the movie Deck the Halls with Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick. It was really funny and quite sweet. Well worth the veiwtime.

AND I saw this on one of the forums I zip through and HAD to post it here cuz it's perfect for the season -- Fun music!

I should have new stuff for tomorrow for sure as was almost finished with a LO last night and have another that MUST get done today for a challenge. But for now today's Poem Pages include one of the two letters I actually designed -- I did the Q, not traditional Holiday colors but I managed to get an elegant look that went well with the stanza. Happy Saturday to all!

P is for presents, packages gay. All around the tree on each Christmas day.

No utilize colores tradicionales pero creo haber conseguido algo elegante que venia bien a la pablabras de mi linea.

I'm late getting this up as have just now gotten to a point I can look at the screen w/o my eyes crossing. The high low pressure sistems that are blowing through NH (we're due for two more major storms over next couple of days) have kicked off a series of migraines for me which knock me flat. Once again nothing newly created but yes the album... I hope to be human again soon but in the meantime my alien twin is placing up the lastest in homosapien holiday tapitas

Yesterday was a total bust -- thanks to work, weather and sinuses I was a mess and
barely made it through the work day before simply crashing and burning come evening. so like yesterday today's scrapping tapas will be pages from my Holiday Album. Because the title page of this as now gone to the past post list (where you can go to see the names of who made what), this just a reminder that this album is not all my work but rather a showcase of various people. Each of us had one or two letters of the poem. I hope you are enjoying them like I do. when I get to my letters I'll be sure to point them out :)

I admit to dragging a bit today,sinus pressure has my head in a vice grip today so am not really on my game. I am dreaming of quiet work day too, but taking into consideration that had a frantic call from a colleague right at 8 am which lasted for nearly 40 minutes, I think we're simply building steam for a high caliber day.

yup I counted and nope not ready yet LOL

I did the home movie rental thing with my kids y-day and fell in love allover with the Die Hard Series... OK OK so Bruce Willis is easy on the eyes too, but all the action was to (ready) DIE FOR! I am an enthusiastic action flick kinda chick and this one really kicked butt right from the credits. Because the Die Hard Series started at Christmastime it seemed only fitting I should speak of the 4th installment in Dec (even though it was supposed to be the 4Th of July). My boys and I enjoyed ourselves immensely and watched it not once, not twice, but 3 times! oh and don't' forget to catch the Die Hard music video -- a tribute and a real hoot.

Remember I was doing a class at NYCScraps? The one I couldn't' keep up with and now she'll be starting a new one? Well I managed to pull out the ppwrk and did one of the LO assignments. I apologize for the blurry picture. It's overcast due to snow and for some reason, I can't take a close up shot to save my life lately but you can appreciate it. Thanks for looking and any comments.

OK and now back to the Holiday at hand... I didn't forget that am posting scrapped pages from the HOLIDAY ABC poem I worked on with other scrapping buddies last Christmas -- here's today's holiday tapita fix for you as well -- Happy "action" Holiday to you all!

Este fin de semana aquilamos peliculas y las vi con mis hijos. Volvi a enamorarme de la serie Die Hard con Bruce Willis otra vez, y no solo porque creo que el esta de buen cosecha sino porque la accion era para morirse de buena. Soy amiga de las peliculas de accion, de veras me entusiasman mucho, y esta comenzo antes de terminar de mostar los credito iniciales! Dado que la serie comenzo en Navidad es porque comento de esto en el este mes a pesar de que la pelicula occure en verano sobre la fieste de 4 de Julio. Disfrutamos mucho mis hijos y you asi que no lo vimos no solo una, ni dos pero 3 veces!! Y si quieres puedes ver el video musical de GuyZNite Out llamado "Die Hard", muy gracioso!

Recordais que hacia a una clase de scrap en NYCScraps? La que no podia terminar y ahora habra una segunda? Pues consegui terminar uno de los sketches. Pido perdon por la foto borrosa pero ultimamente no puedo sacar una foto para salvarme la vida y el dia esta gris porque nieva. Saturday Morning.
I need to first and foremost wish a Happy Hanukkah out to my visitors! I know a number of my forum buddies are spending this week celebrating the Miracle of the Never Ending Oil and the Cleansing of the Temple during the time of the Macabees. May the Festival of Lights fill your home with peace, joy and love. Oh and spin a dreidel for me :)

I have a one of the famous lists that keeps growing which includes all my "Absolutely-Must-Do-Or-Will-Be-Up-A-Creek" type things and then there is the "Gotta, I hope can, really should, maybe will get to" List. Unfortunately the seecond one tends to take more priority on an y given day. Does that show I am a procrastinator or perhaps ma simply tired of responsibilty? LOL
In any case both will get some attention today as I gear up to actually do some Christmas shopping once get my act together and out the door here.

I finished a LO for my weekly class challenge at Willow Traders (only two left now) which met a challenge at Memory Makers for multiple photo two pagers. I'vve put it here for to break your fast this morning.

Te llama la atencion los numeros? A mi si, y me gusta la fech de hoy 12/7/7 o puesto asi 7/12/7 por todos que viven en otros paises fuera de los EEUU. En mi opinion son interestantes. so as promised I will start posting today until Christmas snaps of pages that I made with others from Memory Makers Magazine Forum in a Holiday Swap from last year. We each had one or two letters and a pice of the poem. The cards are 6x6 in size and all wonderfully made. The album itself I finally made/finished last week (yeah I know slowpoke here LOL) but I like how it turned out. It is a the ABC's of Christmas and I'll be placing one or two letters at a time so stop back often. Leave me a comment either on the post or in the chat so I know what you think

lo dicho esta prometido. a partir de hoy estare poniendo fotos de un album que hice con mis amigas de Memory Makers Magazine Forum en un Swap (intercambio) de Navidad. Cada una tenia que decorar uno or dos letras del alfabeto con un trozo de poema. Todas las hojas son del tamano de 6 x 6 y bien diferente y bonitas. So how are you all faring in the planning dept.? We can safely check this one off that big wish list cuz we'll be having a Bing Crosby Special. The white stuff came down very steadily yesterday. It does look pretty --- until the cars and plows churn up the dirt LOL.
No matter I need to snap pics of an album (Christmas one) that finally housed.. Seeing as we've about 20 some odd days to go I think will start tomorrow as it's a perfect poem and will do homage to those people who participated in this swap last year.
but for today I have a LO that has loads of 3D effects (everything is on popdots to elevate the items) and the latest two ATC's for Sarah's weekly challenge. Enjoy the tapitas!

Another Monday but snow covered, Otra vez lunes pero con nieve

Morning! We're getting our first real snow of the season, school is cancelled, the roads are clogged and shovelling is the order of the day. I will say though it does look very pretty.

I had had loads of decorating plans for the weekend but they fell by the wayside becasue the household wasn't quite feeling up to snuff. I really didn't do much in the way of scrapping either.
It's kind of funny, I want to create but find myself dreading it. I think it's because I really pushed my self lately and need to step back. You know I never even finished all the sketches from my NYCScraps. Perhaps it's that once again a submission wasn't picked, or just am creatively drained. A an upbeat sidenote, I recieved my book prize from Memory Makers Magazine, 601 Great Scrapbook Ideas, and it is really nice. Lots of great pages and I even recognize names from my forum wanderings -- big congrats to all of them! Lots of neat ideas to scraplitf here for sure.

In any case here are a couple of ATC's that finished before the weekend but didn't get posted. It's a morning tapita to break your fast, I'll be working on something with a bit more substance for later on.

Muy buenos dias! Esta nevando, los colegios eastan cerrados, las carreteras estan hechas un disastre y la pala sera el implemento mas usado hoy por todos. Debo mencionar que a pesar de causar tantas inconvientes esta bien bonita todo cubierto de blanco.
Tuve mucho planes para decorar la casa este fin de semana pero ninguno llego a completarse. Todos en la case no se sintieron muy bien ni el sabado ni el domingo, Nada en concreto simplement un malestar generalizado. Ni siquiera hice apenas nada de scrap. Es curioso, tengo ganas de completar proyetos pero a su vez no quiero ni ver las fotos. Ademas nunca termine todos los trabajos de la clases de NYSCraps. Quizas es debido a que una vez mas no escogieron la pagina que presente o que el pozo de la creatividad esta casi vacio y no acabo de llenarme de ideas. Ah pues otro dia. Una noticia alegre es que recibi my premio de Memory Makers Magazine, el libro 601 Great Scrapbook Ideas, y si es muy buena. Muchos ideas y reconozco multiple nombres de los foros al que frequento. Un gran enhorabuena a todos, me servira de mucha inspiracion seguro.

Warning Bells -- Campanas de Alarma

So what started out as a slow normal, great feeling day quickly turned into a WHOA kinda day. And while I was walking around in such a really good mood that I tied on the proverbial bells to my feet just to hear the happy sound, if for no other reason than it's Friday, a man walked into the local Clinton Campaign Headquarters around the corner from my home and took hostages, HOSTAGE News at MSN It is being carried live here. The schools went into lock down, and all around my home they redirected traffic and evacuated the area. I am just far enough away that if walk out side and around the corner I can see the building, the SWAT team and the police perimeter. My son was allowed to leave the school finally and my other two arrived home safely as well. And at least two hostages were released as well. This is just too close to home literally. I am ok and thanks to the prayers of all of you I hope that it will resolve quickly and in a positive way. I am going to not post any tapitas today just because I think knowing we're all safe at home is comfort food enough for today.

Para ir al grano hoy localmente en mi ciudad un hombre armado entro en una localidad donde trabajaba voluntarios de la campana de Hillary Clinton. Esta localidad esta a la espalda de mi casa. En resumir aun sigue la confrontacion pero mis hijos llegaron todao a casa bien apesar de que encerraron todos los colegios cercanos que afecto a dos de los mios.
Es algo que llego demasiado cercano a mi hogar asi que no pongo tapitas hoy porque el tener a mi familia segura y sana en casa es suficiente para mi para hoy.

Things I need to do -- Cosas que tengo que hacer

Well first and foremost was I *should* have checked my crockpot this morning. If I had I would have noticed that 5 hours after putting all the ingredients in it to cook I found I'd never plugged it in! I was wondering why didn't smell any enticing aromas by noon LOL. So I need a list to keep me on track and these are some things I need to do during the next few days in no particular order of pressing need (although all of them do have deadlines amazingly enough)

Go to the Pharmacy for refills -- drugs for everyone please and make that a double

Write my Christmas List -- my kids think this will help them shop for me

Decipher my kids Christmas List -- they thought it would help me shop for them

Pull out my Christmas decorations -- would like to actually put some up this year and not just look at all the boxes

Make some scrappy goals for 2008 -- this should help motivate me creatively

Think of more lists of things I need to do -- it never stops cuz there's alway something that needs to be ordered

Determinar algunas metas por 2008 -- esto ayudara motivarme en el campo creativo

Pensar en crearme mas listas -- porque nunca se para de necesitar listas para estar organizada

Teneis muchas listas de quehaceres? Si es asi pues estamos en el mismo club.
Pero si pude terminar algunas cosillas para serviros. Todo fue hecho por un reto en Scrapperie.

I have such brilliant news today!

One of my interests is in geneology but I never really have much time to dedicate to it, so I do very haphazard searches. A few months ago my friend JLO had pointed me to the Ancestry.com site where they were having a freebie 3 day full access trial. I jumped on, created an account and by trial and error managed to fill in a few blanks. I haven't been back much but imagine my surprise when this morning I found an email sent to me from the site requesting information.

The person who sent this called my maternal Great-grandmother her Aunt! WOW! WOW! WOW! She and a few other cousins (multiple times removed) have been researching forever! They've gone so far back that in our family that we can claim 11 Original signers of the Magna Charter in our line -- so I can become a Member of DAR if I so wish. I spent well over an hour on the phone with her this morning remembering shared stories. There is even a full blown website under construction Trees in the Woods "Woods" is the family surname.I even have a family branch who are Brasilian!! What a cool thing to learn -- now if could get a lead on my paternal side would be uber cool

Tengo una noticia super BUENA hoy!

Uno de mis multiples intereses es la geneologia pero debido a tiempo an recurson nunca puedo dedicarle mucho tiempo. Hace unos meses mi amiga JLO me dirijio a Ancestry.com cuando ofrecia la oportunidad de acesar todos los recursos del sitio gratis por tres dias.Me apunte, hice una cuenta y empece a rellanar huecos a mi aire. Hace tiempo queno he vuelot a pasar por alli asi que tal era mi sorpresa cuando esta manana me encontre con un email de alla pidiendome informacion.

La person que envio el mensaje llamaba a mi bisabuela TIA!!!! GUAU! GUAU! GUAU! Resulta que ella era la hija de su hermana y ahora tiene 77 anos. Ha estado recopliando informacion junto con otros primos desde hace anos. Han conseguido tanta inforamcion que verificaron que nuestra familia tenia parientes que eran de los orginales que firmaron la MAGNA CARTA (tiene que ver con el barco MAYFLOWER. Esto queier decir que puedo ser miembro del DAR (Hijas de la Revolucion) si quisiera. Tuve el placer de platicar con ella al telfono por mas de una hora. Supe que tiene un Website llamado Trees in the Woods siendo "Woods" el nombre de familia. Incluso tengo familiares que son Brasilenos. Ahor si pudiera tener el mismo suerte con la familia de mi padre seria superguay!

Today it's raining, I had to drive in the rain to Mass to work (I HATE LONG DISTANCE DRIVING), was slapped on the wrist for doing my job at work today, I come home to the torture of 5th grade fractions, a grumpy uncooperative 5th grader and admonishments from the grandmother that I'm too hard where math is concerned. Blech

And so then I look at my scrap table and it makes me sigh. I'm participating in a challenge and have 4 class LO's to do so I must scrap something but I really don't want to. Guess I'm feeling a bit low where the creative meets the reality. I believe a lot of my stuff is really good but then I look at others and feel inadequate. I am amazed at the continuity some people manage to maintain while keeping each design fresh. When I review my stuff I see my designs as all over the board. I seem unable to isolate any particular trait that marks my stuff with a signature "Liz" design. I am happy with each page/project/card I do but in my eyes they pale next to others. I realize it's my subjectivity that is playing into this but just maybe my 2008 goal just might take a little longer than the 12 month allotment LOL

And to top it off I've nothing to serve up tonite --- what a Monday!

Llueve hoy, tuve que conducir en la lluvia a Mass para trabajar (ODIO CONDUCIR LARGOS DISTANCIAS DE TODAS FORMAS) mi jefe decidio decirme que una llamad que tome no fue tratada correctamente cuando lo era y al llegar me encuentro con la matematica del quinto grado, un nino que no quiere hacerlo y la abuela que dice que soy demasiada dura por querer que lo haga...Vaya Tela!

y ahora mira a mi mesa de scrap y suspiro. Participo en uno reto y aun me quedan 4 clases asi que tengo que hacer scarp peor no tengo ganas en absoluto. Creo que estoy un poco desanimada en el campo de la creatividad. Estoy constantamente asombrada por la continuidad que mucha gente consigue proyecto tras proyecto, con cada diseno algo original y fresco. Quizas sea porque veo que en la realidad lo mio no tiene ese punto que lo distingue como "hecho por Liz". Personalmente me gusta cada pagina/proyeto/tarjeta que he creado; creo que me gustaria que llamara la atencion un poco mas. Quizas mi meta de ser publicada en 2008 tardara un poco mas tiempo Jejeje

Y para colmo no tengo ni una tapita a compartir hoy -- Lunes Maldito!

so you made through the meal, crazy shopping and the initial decoration frenzy and it's now Saturday. Congrats!
As for me, well I was up at 3:30 am to shop with a friend who didn't show so I went back to bed. Then I, as was supposed to work, I was unpleasantly surprised when found my laptop went AWOL in programming so I ended up having hte day off after troubleshooting it for 3+ hours. I used the day to good advantage and got some errands done and scrapped. Later today we'll do our version of the "Dinner" as I worked the holiday. But for now here are my recent creations ready for you. Scoot up to the bar, have a drink, enjoy the tapas and tell me what you think in the chat box to the left... Yo? el viernes me levante a las 3:30 de la manana dispuesta a ir de compras con un aamiga que no aparecio asi que volvi a la cama. Luego como tenia que trabajar al intentar hacer el login a mi portatil me encontre con que el equipo decidio ir de vacaciones. Despuese de trabajr este problema por mas de 3 horas acabe con el dia libre. Hice mandado y scrap. Mas tarde hoy cocinare nuestra comida especial porque tabajaba durante la fiesta. I suppose could go on and on with this but in truth I'm just thankful I CAN be thankful for everything that has come and gone as well as what's yet to come. I wish all those that stop by my blog a wonderful holiday with family and friends. Be safe as you travel.

On Scrapperie there was a challenge to make a mini-book to record a minemum of 21 things we're thankful/grateful for this season. I did a minifolder book and created ATC's for the inside for each week. It turned out lovely and I hope you like it too. This is my Thanksgiving Tapa for you.

It's been a busy day at work -- long conference calls for troubleshooting. We managed to make head way though so all's good. On the blogging front I think I like this template and am going to keep it for awhile. I'm still going to be updating links and maybe adding a goodie or two but the format is done.

All this change has jacked up my think-o-meter levels which is a good thing

Here is a LO of the 3 boys in my household taken a few years back. I've loved this snap because it shows them as simply happy guys. Enjoy tonight's tapa selection, smiles served warm.

Ha sido un dia movido en el trabajo -- llamadas largas de conferencia para intentar islar un problema de red. Conseguimos adelantarnos asi que esto es bueno. Con respecto al mi blog creo que me quedo ya con este formato porque me gusta mucho. Todavia tengo que actualizar unos links etc pero no mas.

Morning All..
Like all good cooks everywhere, exquiste food only happens when you experiment by mixing things up and as I've been mulling moving things around a bit for quite awhile
hang in there today cuz will be switching it up -- Perhaps my TAPITAS will be that much better for it. I think that's because I actually did a LO and submitted it to a mag which has galvanized me of sorts. (remember one of my goals IS to try and get pubbed sometime in 2008 LOL)
It's been a long weekend, lots of meltdowns due to family visits and very little recreational scrapping

I can put up a goofy snap of my boys and their father. He is visiting them from Spain after a two year hiatus (nothing out of the ordinary there) hence the meltdowns
My oldest turned 17 on Sat (hence more attituded and meltdowns)
I'm ready for Wed. LOL

Como todo buen concinero sabe, los platos exquisitos solo nacen si se atreve mezclar los ingredientes en una manera origina,l asi que hoy estare cambiando este lugar. 1. Una vez slate de un edificio de dos plantas para escondernos de Seguridad de la Universidad. Estabamos en el tejado haciendo munecas de nieve --cosas de la juventud.
2. No entiendo mi telefono movil. Aunque trabajo con tecnologia durante el dia no acabo de poner en marcha todas sus funcionalidades. Esto le risa a mi hijo mayor
3. Cuando leo novela me convierto en el caracter prinicpal tanto me gusta meterme en la historia.
4. Tengo una fe muy profunda y he tenido muchos suenos profeticos que se hayan convertidos an realidad sobre temas personales, familiares y de amistad.
5. Aun sueno con ser un cantante profesional pero se que solo un sueno.
6. Cuanod era joven deseaba ser un espia profesional, hasta tal punto que hice una entrevista con la CIA. Pero como estaa casada entonce con una persona no nacionalizada no pude seguir este camino.
Y como punto final
7. Estoy disfrutando con esto de los blogs aunque nunca en mi vida hasta ahora he sido capaz de mantener un diario personal

My lists are getting shorter as am able to check off the items, pretty soon will be on top of them all
I've finished cleaning for the most part!! hooray!!
I still have a back porch and an attic to plow through but those can wait :)
Got some fun news -- I won a copy of the new soon to be released Memory Makers Book 601 Great Scrapbook Ideas. My LO was selected on day 4's opportunity. Looking forward to receiving this!

Now to take stock of my scrapload... I will be working on all sketches I didn't finish for the NYCscraps class. Debbie Hodge did a magnificent job with this, it's just my schedule didn't mesh nicely. I think she'll teach another after the holidays. I highly recommend it.

I am also going to try to do this week's challenge at ChitChat . They look fun and have some cool goodies for the winner. And if you're looking for some inspiration there will be two different opportunities happening this weekend to get your mojo flowing:

BAD GIRLS is having TWELVE free tutorial classes this weekend in the Christmas Workshop. Their DT is something else and MMMaster'08 Iris Babao Uy will be hosting one of them as well.
And EBBCreations is having an Online Crop. I hope to stop by both of these to get some ideas but as the boy's father will be visting from Spain that may not happen so easily.

And as the tapita for today here is a LO for a monochromatic challenge that I am quite pleased with it.

Una noticia grata -- Gane una copia del nuevo libro de Memory Makers, 601 Great Scrapbook Ideas. Mi pagina fue escogida en el cuarto dia. Estoy contenta y espero su recibirlo pronto.

Ahora tengo que ponerme a completar los planos dados para la clase de NYCScraps que no llegue a terminar. La instructora Debbie Hodge dio ejemplos y instrucciones fantasticos, yo no fui capaz de manejar mi teimpo como para hacer todo lo que querria. Creo que dara otra clase despues de la Fiestas, os la recomiendo!

Quiero hacer una pagina para el reto de la semana en ChitChat . Tienen buena pinta y regalan unas cosas bonitas. Ademas si buscas mas inspiracion creativa este fin de semana dirijo a estos dos lugares:

BAD GIRLS esta presentando clases gratuitas para crear regalos y proyectos de Navidad. Su equipo de diseno es extremadamente buena y unos de los MMMaster'08, Iris Babao Uy, sera una de las instructoras. Y
EBBCreations presenta una reunion en internet para hacer paginas en su Online Crop. Espero sacar un poco de tiempo para visitar ambos lugares pero como el padre de mis hijos estara de visita de Espana no se si podre.

....so I'm doing a non-elimination challenge as Scrapperie where your peers vote for you. And, while I like the LO, I blew it. We were supposed to have a large photo and HAND journaling featured. Well because I'm a putz and just so running behind in everything lately, I did great journaling but printed it out because it worked for the LO. So I guess no points for me -- nothing like starting a race and forgetting your shoes LOL

I still have so much cleaning to do it's scary. That's what I get for taking a couple of days of work to "try" and get out from under. Major dust removal is on tap for the dining room as well as the boy's room. Change/wash bedding, clean the upstair bathroom, return videos and get in some scrapping (hopefully a bit earlier today) are all on the agenda. Not to mention that I'm sitting here at 4:30 am when should be sleeping --- so as today's tapita here is my offering -- they come by their "goofy" superpowers naturally -- heredity is a wonderful thing!

....Asi que participo en un nuevo reto alli an Scrapperie en que todos envian sus votos para el favorito sin estar eliminado (mas bien sigues creando y los votos determinaran al ganador) - me gusto mi pagina pero no he hecho bien. Los parametros eran simples, uan foto grande y escribir A MANO el comentario. Pues como tengo la cabaza ultimamente a las tres de la tarde, YO imprimi mi comentario porque encajaba mejor al tematico de la pagina. Asi que no habra puntos para mi hoy, no hay nada poer que comenzar a correr y olvidarse los botines de deporte JE JE JE!!!

Aun tengo muchos quehaceres a terminar en la casa y me asusta esto. Es mi culpa por tamar unos dias del trabajo para intentar adelantarme. Quitar polvo del comedor y la habitacion de los ninos, limpiar el cuarto bano, cambiar y lavar la rop de camas, devolver los DVD y con suerte algo de scrap (quizas un poco mas temprano hoy) son unas cosillas de mi lista par ahoy. No hay que mencionar que estoy levantada a las 4:30 de la manana cuando debia estar en la cama -- Bien he aqui mi tapita de hoy -- los ninos tiene este poder gracias a su madre/tia que si es loca la mayoria del tiempo -- los genes humanos son algo interesante.
